ABOUT THE EVENT

Helmut Lachenmann writes in his programme note for Mouvement – vor der Erstarrung: “A music of dead movements … pseudo-activity which consists of nothing more than rubble .. like a beetle floundering on its back”. In this Presentation, we will explore what happens from the combination of that “rubble” that amounts to so much more than just musical emptiness or deathliness. Mouvement is also a piece that points to Lachenmann’s later music that now encompasses the whole range of musical sounds. From musique concrète instrumentale to “conventional” notes and rhythms.
