Keeping with the momentum of the previous year’s stellar series of performances of experimental electro-acoustic improvisation, electronic and noise music. The 2020 CHOPPA Music Festival will bring into focus practitioners of sonic arts from around South East Asia.

This year’s festival will also foray into a new and expanded sonic direction with the addition of a surround sound immersive audio environment, featuring performances of sweepings shards of experimental noise, broken beats, electronic treatments with scattered electro-acoustic elements! In addition to the sonic aspects of the performances each section will be accompanied by live visuals realised by several video artists exploring the outer edges of their practice by improvising live moving images accompanying the music.

Since January 2007, C.H.O.P.P.A. has been a semi-regular series of improvised and electronic music in Singapore presenting concerts showcasing the experimental music of Singapore and regional scenes by giving a forum for sound artists and musicians to present their work. This festival is presented by School of Contemporary Music at LASALLE College of the Arts.
