About this Event

This vocal showcase will be performed by singers Akiko Otao, Jonathan Charles Tay, Siti Maznah and Adam Azali, accompanied by composer John Sharpley (US-born Singapore-based composer) on the piano and librettist Robert Yeo as narrator. The performance will showcase five songs from the newly revised opera Fences of the Heart by Yeo and Sharpley. The story is set in the tumultuous 1960s and takes place in London, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. In the midst of upheaval, a Chinese boy from Singapore and a Malay girl from Kuala Lumpur struggle to make their life together.
