The 2nd Singapore Music Research Symposium will be held on 20 Sep 2019 (F). It is organised by Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and the Communication and New Media (CNM) department from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), National University of Singapore (NUS).
The symposium provides the opportunity for researchers in Singapore interested in music cognition, technology, thereapy, communication, learning, information retreival, synthesis, and related fields to present and share ideas. The day-long event will offer invited speakers, an industry panel session, a poster session for student presentations, and will conclude with a short late-afternoon performance.
The event is free, includes lunch, and is open to students, professors, scientists, industry researchers, and clinicians.
CSS members Timothy S. H. Tan and Pete Kellock will be presenting topics too: Timothy Tan will present a poster about an almost forgotten oscillator, whereas Pete Kellock will be presenting “bad-tempered” timbres (something to do with tuning and resultant harmony) during Speaker Session #3.
