Ding Yi returns to the Taoyuan Traditional Music Festival this August, bringing a selection of Singaporean compositions in collaboration with the Taoyuan Chinese Orchestra (TYCO) including \u201cAksara\u201d by Young Artist Award recipient composer Wang Chenwei and \u201cFour Tone Poems on Fables\u201d by Cultural Medallion composer Phoon Yew Tien. Their concertmaster and huqin musician Fred Chan Hong Wei, and percussion musician Low Yik Hang, will also contribute their exceptional artistry to Phoon\u2019s exceptional work.<\/p>\n
Under the joint direction of Wong De Li, Dedric, Ding Yi\u2019s Resident Conductor, and renowned conductor Qu Chunquan, \u201cReunion in Taoyuan: TYCO x Ding Yi exchange concert\u201d promises a captivating blend of Singaporean musical heritage with traditional and contemporary elements.<\/p>\n
