Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music<\/strong><\/p>\n 17-19 Apr 2020 (F-Su)<\/strong><\/p>\n In view of current health and travel advisories relating to the ongoing COVID-19, YSTCM is implementing safety precautions consistent with NUS policy. Coupled with the increasing number of international travel bans, the organizers have decided to cancel this year\u2019s festival. However, a select number of events are still slated to happen independently. Click the link below for more information.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Sounding Now<\/strong> is a festival of contemporary music that brings together divergent contemporary practices with the goal of connecting people from different artistic communities in order to explore the ways their shared interests intersect.<\/p>\n Presented by the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, the festival brings together contemporary music of different approaches \u2013 concert music, installation, electronics, and improvisation.<\/p>\n This year\u2019s Sounding Now Festival takes place from 17-19 April 2020 at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.<\/p>\n Special guests are percussionist Steven Schick<\/strong>, and Swiss-based piano quartet Mondrian Ensemble<\/strong>. Singapore-based contemporary music ensembles OpusNovus<\/strong> and Wu Xian<\/strong> will perform, alongside top experimental music improvisers from Singapore<\/strong>. Additionally, percussion students from YST; Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam; and Western Australian Academy of the Performing Arts (WAAPA)<\/strong> will perform alongside Mario Choo, Max Riefer, and Tim White<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
