Participants will have the opportunity to consult with the Composer-in-Residence about their drafts. Finally, eight works will be selected to be played by SCO in a reading session.<\/p>\n<p><em>This programme will be livestreamed on SCO\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/singapore.chinese.orchestra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>, Official WeChat account and NetEase.<\/em><\/p>\n<h4>Composer Workshop Day 1 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1412394855882983\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seminar and Q&amp;A Session<\/a><\/h4>\n<p><strong>11 Mar 2022 (F)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>7:00PM \u2013 8:00PM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaker: WANG Chenwei (CSS Member), SCO Composer-in-Residence. <\/strong>Although the Hokkien, Teochew, Cantonese, Hakka and Hainanese dialect groups form the majority of Singapore\u2019s Chinese population, their traditional music is unfamiliar to the mainstream Chinese music community in Singapore. This seminar discusses Singaporean Chinese identity and introduces the traditional musical genres of the above dialect groups.
