ABOUT THE EVENT<\/h4>\n

Duo Tarenna is excited to present its debut concert Journey on Eight Strings at The Arts House, generously supported by the National Arts Council. This concert showcases a range of contemporary Chinese violin-viola duos, placing them in dialogue with each other and with a widely-acknowledged masterwork of the repertory- Bohuslav Martin\u016f\u2019s Three Madrigals. Two works by renowned Chinese-American composers Bright Sheng and Chen Yi are counterposed against newly commissioned pieces by Singaporean Chinese composers Lee Jia Yi and Joseph Lim Soon Keong. Taken together, they present complex and different takes on Chinese culture in contemporary society, which are nonetheless informed in different ways by experiences of \u201cthe West\u201d.<\/p>\n

Concert attendees are cordially invited to an online post-concert dialogue on 1 May 2022 (Su) 9:00PM<\/strong> with composers Lee Jiayi and Joseph Lim on Zoom, where we revisit eclipse and Horse Horse Tiger Tiger, and chat about their inspirations, compositional process and more! \u65b0\u521b\u7acb\u7684\u54f2\u6cfd\u53cc\u91cd\u594f\u5c06\u5728\u65b0\u52a0\u5761Arts House Chamber \u8363\u5e78\u5448\u73b0\u9996\u6b21\u6f14\u51fa\u300a\u516b\u5f26\u4e4b\u65c5\u300b\uff0c\u56fd\u5bb6\u827a\u672f\u7406\u4e8b\u4f1a\u9f0e\u529b\u652f\u6301\u672c\u6b21\u6f14\u51fa\u3002\u5c0f\u63d0\u7434\u4e0e\u4e2d\u63d0\u7434\u7684\u642d\u914d\u5728\u897f\u65b9\u53e4\u5178\u4e50\u72ec\u7279\u53c8\u7f55\u89c1\uff1b\u5728\u8fd9\u6b21\u6f14\u51fa\u4e2d\uff0c\u54f2\u6cfd\u53cc\u91cd\u594f\u5c06\u6f14\u594f\u4e3a\u8fd9\u7279\u522b\u7684\u7ec4\u5408\u4f5c\u66f2\u7684\u4e94\u9996\u7cbe\u5f69\u66f2\u76ee\u3002\u8457\u540d\u7f8e\u7c4d\u534e\u88d4\u4f5c\u66f2\u5bb6\u76db\u5b97\u4eae(Bright Sheng) \u548c\u9648\u6021 (Chen Yi) \u7684\u300aAngel Fire Duo\u300b\u4e0e\u300aHappy Tune\u300b\u662f\u897f\u65b9\u53e4\u5178\u4e50\u548c\u534e\u65cf\u6587\u5316\u78b0\u649e\u540e\u7684\u5178\u8303\u4f5c\u66f2\uff0c\u800c\u6377\u514b\u5f53\u4ee3\u4f5c\u66f2\u5bb6 Bohuslav Martin\u016f \u7684\u300aThree Madrigals\u300b\u5177\u6709\u5f3a\u70c8\u7684\u6c11\u65cf\u8272\u5f69\u3002\u9664\u6b64\u4e4b\u5916\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u59d4\u6258\u4e86\u4e24\u4f4d\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u672c\u5730\u9752\u5e74\u4f5c\u66f2\u5bb6\u6797\u987a\u5f3a\u548c\u674e\u5609\u6021\u4e3a\u54f2\u6cfd\u53cc\u91cd\u594f\u521b\u4f5c\u66f2\u76ee\uff0c\u501f\u8fd9\u6b21\u673a\u4f1a\u8868\u8fbe\u548c\u6292\u53d1\u65b0\u52a0\u5761\u7279\u6b8a\u7684\u534e\u65cf\u6587\u5316\u97f5\u5473\u3002<\/p>\n
