2nd CSS Listening Party happened on the 28 Nov 2015 \u2013 a platform for members to share their music and build stronger friendship. For this edition, we wanted to stay open, and extended our invitation to include friends of our members as well as potential members.<\/p>\n
It was a delightful evening meeting up with like minded composers and new friends.<\/p>\n
Joyce opened the evening with a welcome greeting, followed by a short presentation on the society\u2019s aims, purpose in the local community and partnership in the international arena. We also announced our forthcoming project \u2018Forum for Young Composers 2016\u2019. Beside sharing their experiences at the Asian Composers\u2019 League Festival in Philippines, John, Robert, Alicia and Bernard encouraged the young composers to think about participating in the next ACL Festival \u2018Young Composers\u2019 Prize\u2019 category which will be happening in Vietnam next year.<\/p>\n
Over sandwiches from Swiss bakery, tea and coffee, we listened to Jimmy Sun Zhongda\u2019s music for film, \u2018Disappearing Bottle\u2019, Kong Meng\u2019s \u2018The Breath of Life\u2019 for chamber ensemble and Alicia\u2019s \u2018In Our last\u2019 for soprano, piano and flute.<\/p>\n
