The submitted works will be performed by the Ensemble&#8217;s current intern musicians and core musician line-up. An equal number of solo works and chamber works will be selected, and the compositions will be recorded and showcased through the HKNME&#8217;s digital platforms throughout the 2020-21 season. Selected composers will work with HKNME musicians in a workshop setting (virtually or in person, if based in Hong Kong), and will receive a copy of the audio recording of their work.<\/p>\n<h4>Age Limit<\/h4>\n<p>Composers of any nationality aged 37 or under (as of 31 October 2020) are invited to submit works.<\/p>\n<h4>Instrumentation<\/h4>\n<p>Solo works should be written for one solo instrument from the following list:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clarinet (Bb, A, Bass)<\/li>\n<li>Trumpet (Bb, C, Eb, piccolo, baroque trumpet)<\/li>\n<li>Piano<\/li>\n<li>Viola<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These works will be performed by musicians supported by the Artistic Internship Scheme (supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Linus Fung (clarinet)<\/li>\n<li>Shelley Ng (piano)<\/li>\n<li>Edwin Wong (trumpet)<\/li>\n<li>Rebecca Tang (viola)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smaller chamber works (up to 4 players) may be submitted for consideration, but the works must involve at least one of the HKNME&#8217;s intern musicians (above), and be composed for any combination of up to 4 players from the following instrumentation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flute (C, alto, piccolo)<\/li>\n<li>Clarinet (Bb, A, Bass)<\/li>\n<li>Trumpet (Bb, C, Eb, piccolo, baroque trumpet)<\/li>\n<li>Bassoon<\/li>\n<li>Piano<\/li>\n<li>Violin<\/li>\n<li>Viola (1 or 2 players)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Duration<\/h4>\n<p>Submitted works should last maximum 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<h4>Further Details<\/h4>\n<p>Works may have been performed before.
