Soundislands (PerMagnus Lindborg & Joyce Beetuan Koh) with Good Company Arts (New Zealand)

Come and watch this immersive project combining VR, dance, sound, light and kinetics with Soundislands and New Zealand-based dance theatre Good Company Arts!

Here is a synopsis:

The human figure is central to a questing that signifies dreaming, navigation and discovery for the Astrolabe project. In this film excerpt, the movement artist gently propels her ship with a kinetic game that activates the very fibres of space. Her capacity to be fluid, to be receptive to the mystery of things, creates a dance of potential and undefined consciousness. Almost every element on Earth is formed by particles from space, including our bodies. All planetary exploration is a story about longing, we are reaching to understand the significance of our own existence, to know ourselves. – Daniel Belton and Good Company Arts
There are basic characteristics of how spacetime dynamics create structures and systems at all scales throughout the universe. By understanding the structure and dynamics of space we can better understand everything in the universe. Nikola Tesla was correct when he said “our entire biological system, the brain and the earth itself work on the same frequencies”. It’s time to tune our biology and our consciousness to resonate with the fundamental harmonics of the universe. We are the universe learning about itself. – Nassim Haramein

Astrolabe is our forthcoming project for dance, kinetic sculpture, sound and VR scheduled for world premiere with the National Museum Singapore in December 2019. Excerpts from the new work showcased as part of the New Zealand Exhibition NZPQ19, curated by Stuart Foster (Massey University) for The Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space.

The Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space was established in 1967 to bring the best of design for performance, scenography, and theatre architecture to the front line of cultural activities to be experienced by professional and emerging artists as well as the general public. The quadrennial exhibitions, festivals, and educational programs act as a global catalyst for creative progress by encouraging experimentation, networking, innovation, and future collaborations.

In nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else which is before it, beside it, under it and over it. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
