As part of ongoing international partnerships, the YST Conservatory Orchestra will present a concert at the Korean National University of Arts in Seoul on 13 April 2019. Ahead of the performance in Korea, they will present a pre-tour concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall, featuring an eclectic array of music centred around early 20th-century English compositions. In addition, YST Composition faculty Asst Prof Chen Zhangyi, whose compositions have been performed by ensembles such as the London Symphony Orchestra and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, will present a new concerto commissioned for this occasion. Taking the stage as soloist in Walton’s virtuosic Violin Concerto is YST Head of Strings Prof Qian Zhou. Principal Conductor Jason Lai, who in 2018 conducted the KNUA Orchestra in Singapore, will lead the YST Conservatory Orchestra.
