Expressionism in Contemporary Music - 4PM
Join Chao-Ming Tung, Artistic Director of C-Camerata, for an illuminating session that explores how traditional elements, such as the Taiwanese folk song “Moon Night Sorrow”, can serve as powerful compositional tools in modern music. Participants will delve into techniques that bridge traditional melodies and contemporary expression, creating music that resonates across cultures and time.

Training in Huqin Ensemble Performance - 3PM
Renowned huqin virtuoso Yang Xue will lead Hunix Bowed-String Ensemble (Malaysia) to demonstrate and discuss the erhu quartet piece, “Picking Red Water Chestnuts”, sharing insights into aspects such as multi-part listening, section relationships, tonal balance, and musical interpretation. The workshop will explore the science behind huqin ensemble training and discuss the development of huqin ensemble music.
