Heartstrung – a conversation between 2 zithers and a cello. Featuring resident artist and director of SAtheCollective Natalie Alexandra, who has been exploring different sonic possibilities using extended techniques and electronics on the guzheng; Jon He (an ex-student of Brian O’Rilley at LASALLE) who has innovatively designed a glove to manipulate effects on his Gu Qin; and Vick, (also an ex-student of Brian O’Rilley) who explores sounds and electronics on his cello. “a nerve once believed to sustain the heart, it now represents one’s deepest feelings of love or compassion.” Performers: # Natalie Alexandra – Guzheng and Electronics # Vick Low – Cello and Electronics Special guest from New Zealand: # Jon He – Gu Qin and Electronics
