Volunteer With Us

As CSS expands, we would like to recruit new volunteers to contribute to our digital and offline initiatives! If interested, please fill up our volunteer application form via our website.

1) Writer’s Club:

The Writers’ Club is an open, collaborative space for young and emerging writers who are curious about contemporary music in and from Singapore. Members join a supportive community that values fresh perspectives, critical thinking, and creative expression. Opportunities include:

    • Idea-sharing and community building through relaxed gatherings and guided discussions on current topics in contemporary music, culture, and creative practice.
    • Concert reviewing opportunities, with complimentary tickets to performances featuring contemporary music, encouraging firsthand engagement and thoughtful reflection.
    • Writing short essays that respond to new works, artistic trends, interdisciplinary ideas, and broader questions surrounding contemporary music today.
    • Interviewing composers and artists through podcasts and other multimedia formats, offering immediate and personal insights for publication in the Musings section of the CSS website.

Who should join?
Emerging composers, performers, musicologists, and interdisciplinary artists who are curious about contemporary music. No prior publishing experience required. The Writers’ Club is a place to develop your voice, gain publishing experience, and connect with others who are passionate about new music.
