Singapore Composers Festival
Since the formation of the Composers Society of Singapore in 2007, we have been dedicating ourselves to the promotion and documentation of new music in Singapore, as well as creating opportunities for the creation of new music. The inaugural Singapore Composers Festival, held on 23 March 2024, seeks to fulfill these three key missions. With sufficient funding, we hope to make this a yearly event.
– Dates and details for the next festival have not been announced. Please stay tuned! –
Festival 2024
The 2024 Festival was a one-day music experiential event, like the idea of a Gesamtkunstwerk – the whole experience is like a non-stop musical-artistic flow, where music serves as a platform for cultural exchange, understanding, and also critical examination of contemporary issues. The festival featured talks by two of our own CSS members, two concerts showcasing works by our own local talents, and a cross-country collaboration with the Malaysia Composers Collective. Recordings of the talks and concerts are being archived on our YouTube Channel. Check out the playlist here!
