US-based Singaporean composer Edmund Song is acclaimed for blending Eastern traditional music with Western influences, with 'idioms of Hollywood film music and Broadway musicals' (The Straits Times, 2023) His multicultural approach has earned him international acclaim, leading to collaborations with ensembles such as Hub New Music (USA), PRISM Quartet (USA), Standing Wave Ensemble (Canada), and TACETi Ensemble (Thailand). Edmund was honoured with the Leslie Bassett Graduate Award at the Alba Music Festival (Italy) and gained significant recognition when the Civic Orchestra of Chicago featured his film score, "The Smart Dog." A versatile artist, Edmund is deeply involved in multiple film projects as a film composer and sound designer, including nominations for Best Original Music for "Silver River" (Singapore, 2023) and selection as a composer for the Independent Silent Film Festival (USA, 2024).

Edmund is currently one of the shortlisted arrangers-in-residence for One Song

Orchestra (Taiwan), serves as Composer-in-Residence for Bass Around Asia (Taiwan-Singapore) and works as a guest composer/ arranger for Ding Yi Music Company (Singapore). He was the Composer-in-Residence for the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra (Singapore) and served as faculty at the Jacobs Composition Academy (USA). He also holds the roles of Studio Assistant at the University of Missouri Kansas City (USA) Recording Studio and Composer Assistant to film composer William Wright (USA). Other collaborations include producing music and arrangements with 24 Gigakus (China), Wowkie Zhang (China), Nathan Hartono (Singapore) and Derrick Hoh (Singapore).

Edmund's educational background includes degrees and full scholarships from YST Conservatory of Music (Singapore), Jacobs School of Music - Indiana University (USA), and UMKC Conservatory (USA) in Double Bass Performance, Scoring for Visual Media, and Contemporary Composition. Beyond composition, he is an accomplished double bassist, being part of Pirastro Strings Elite Soloist Program (USA), having performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic (China), and in tour productions like Phantom of the Opera 2019 and Les Misérables 2016. His expertise extends to early music, performing with Red Dot Baroque (Singapore), Bloomington Bach Cantata Project (USA), and JSOM Baroque Orchestra (USA).
