Secret Venue

11 Jan 2020 (Sa)
1:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Our second session of Say Say Borak will take place on 11 Jan 2020 (Sa) 1.30 PM – 4.00 PM, at a very exciting location!

We started our first session (Dec 2019) on how we listen. Now here is a short synopsis of what the second session is about:

The conception of music as an innovative art form progressing relentlessly in the modern age has always been hotly contested. Can we meaningfully define, discourse and deploy music’s supposed creative propensity to innovate then?

In this session, we will be using the selected pages from Benjamin Piekut’s book Henry Cow: The World Is A Problem, specifically his sketch on the top part of pg 388 on the four analytical categories of modernism and avant-garde.

Please see if you can come with examples which might fit into these categories to share. We look forward to an engaging and thought provoking afternoon on 11 Jan 2020!
