Thank you to Isaac Lim for this poignant addition to the Score Follower series!
Programme Notes:
A setting of a poem by the same title penned by Alfred Lord Tennyson, A Farewell tells of the vastness of time and the smallness of us. Tennyson reflects on the quiet rhythms of nature — rivers widening, trees sighing, bees humming — and though the rhythms of nature will continue “for ever and for ever”, he laments that he will not be around to watch it.
The Score Follower video series features new works by Singaporean composers every other month, so be sure to check out the playlist for more compositions, and subscribe to our channel if you’d like to be notified of new videos!
