Calling all CSS members! Call-for-scores for your work to be performed in Korea, April 2019. Non-members are welcome to apply on the basis of becoming CSS members.

In our efforts to promote Singaporean contemporary music, we’re excited to announce a joint project with Asian Composers League Korea (ACL-Korea) in 2019. This project involves 2 parts:

1. ACL-Korea will host a concert including 3 Singaporean works in April 2019.
2. CSS will host a concert including 3 Korean works in the 3rd quarter of 2019.

As such, we’d like to open a call for scores for the 1st part of this project that will give composers the opportunity to have their work performed in Korea. Below are the details of the call:

Instrumentation: For solo flute/violin/cello/piano; or flute duo/violin duo/cello duo/piano duo. No electronics allowed.

Duration: No limit, however works of extreme durations may face discretion.

Submission deadline: 28th Jan 2019

• Only CSS members may apply. To become a CSS member, visit https://cssingapore.org/index.php/get-involved/join-as-member/
• Works may have been performed before.
• ACL-Korea’s decision on which pieces to perform is final.
• Composers will be notified of the selection by end of February.
• Selected composers MUST be able to attend the performance of their work in April.
• Selected composers are responsible for all expenses related to travel. CSS may subsidize travel-related expenses pending success with grant funding.
