New mom and soprano Akiko OTAO brings you Baby Book by Lauren SPAVELKO with her long time collaborator, Pauline LEE. Winner of the 2017 G.C. Menotti Competition for Young Composers, the song cycle beautifully illustrates a woman’s journey of miscarriage, pregnancy and motherhood. Get ready to laugh in They Don’t Let You in the Opera (If You’re a Country Star), where we will tell you the story of the baby’s hilarious birth (at the opera!). Bring your mother, daughter, and favourite aunty to celebrate womanhood.
