A first of its kind in Singapore, UNHEARD asks when do women get to be heard for who we are?

UNHEARD is a chamber concert featuring 7 brilliant Singaporean female composers at the historic Chamber at the Arts House.

It is difficult to imagine becoming something when there is no one who looks like you already doing it. Featuring works by a diverse group of Singaporean female composers, the concert is a love letter to the bright future for Singaporean women and beyond in music.

UNHEARD mentorship programme: The concert will premiere a newly commissioned piece by the inaugural composition mentee, LEE Jia Yi (CSS Student Member), mentored by veteran composer Emily KOH (CSS Full Member). The mentorship programme aims to bridge the gap and connect Singaporean women composers, it is the only mentorship programme for female composers available on the island.

UNHEARD is a concert series dedicated to female composers, started in March 2019 in Boston, USA by Rachel LIM and this will be the fourth performed edition. The mission is to provide a platform for female creators in music and art, allowing female voices to be heard and to tell their stories. An annual concert series, it is women supporting women. We aim to empower women composers of the next generation.
