Ding Yi returns to the Taoyuan Traditional Music Festival this August, bringing a selection of Singaporean compositions in collaboration with the Taoyuan Chinese Orchestra (TYCO) including “Aksara” by Young Artist Award recipient composer Wang Chenwei and “Four Tone Poems on Fables” by Cultural Medallion composer Phoon Yew Tien. Their concertmaster and huqin musician Fred Chan Hong Wei, and percussion musician Low Yik Hang, will also contribute their exceptional artistry to Phoon’s exceptional work.

Under the joint direction of Wong De Li, Dedric, Ding Yi’s Resident Conductor, and renowned conductor Qu Chunquan, “Reunion in Taoyuan: TYCO x Ding Yi exchange concert” promises a captivating blend of Singaporean musical heritage with traditional and contemporary elements.
