The Singapore International Composition Competition for Chinese Chamber Music
Open Call Begins!
Presented by Ding Yi Music Company, Composium is an international composition platform that brings together a Chinese chamber music composition competition, symposiums, an Adjudicator Compositions Concert and a Prize-winner Concert. The festival is dedicated to advancing the creation and development of Chinese chamber music, while encouraging composers from diverse cultural backgrounds to explore the possibilities of Chinese instruments within contemporary musical language.
Since its inception in 2012, Composium has attracted submissions from composers around the world and has grown into an important platform for international artistic exchange.
📌 Highlights of Composium 2026 include:
- A two-stage composition competition (Preliminary Round and Final Round in the form of an open rehearsal)
- A panel of internationally renowned composers serving as adjudicators and symposium speakers
- A series of panel discussions/workshops/talks (available in person and via livestream)
- A newly introduced Western String Quartet with Chinese Instrumental Quartet category, encouraging cross-cultural composition
- Selected works will be performed by Ding Yi Music Company, with competition results announced during the Prize-winner Concert
