This specialist violin and electronics composition course is led by Pierre Alexandre Tremblay (Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, Lugano) and violin soloist Darragh Morgan, described by BBC Radio 3 as “one of the most adventurous violinists around”.
Designed specifically for composers and music creators, this violin and electronics composition course enables participants to develop a new work for violin and electronics through hands-on exploration, rehearsal and collaborative experimentation.
Throughout this violin and electronics composition course, participants will examine:
- The evolving role of the violinist in mixed-media performance
- The creative function of electronics
- Reactive and interactive electronic processes
- The structural relationship between live violin and electronic sound
- Practical rehearsal strategies and performer collaboration
Working directly with Darragh Morgan, composers will test ideas in real time and refine their writing through practical engagement with the performer.
