The Composers Society of Singapore (CSS) has received a call for applications for the Vienna Summer Music Festival-Composers Forum. Here is the message:

The Vienna Summer Music Festival-Composers Forum is proud to announce that our application for our 2020 season is now open. Composers can apply in the area of instrumental composition. Information regarding these programs can be found below and on our website (link below).

  • Instrumental composers will have their music performed with PHACE, one of Vienna’s finest new music ensembles who specialize in the performance practice of contemporary music.
  • Visiting guest, IrvineArditti will do masterclasses with our guest composers and will record works for solo violin.
  • Opera composition composers will have their one act operas performed with and will be fully staged, costumed, and small set.
  • Each student will receive private lessons, attend seminars, and participate in masterclasses with faculty from the local universities in Vienna.
  • We are proud to announce Lei Liang as our guest composer this year.

The Instrumental Composition forum will be held on 7-21 Jun 2020. The tuition fee is EUR 3750 and includes housing, private lessons, facilities, faculty, masterclasses, visiting guests, cultural excursions, ensemble hires.

Application Cost: EUR 35 (via PayPal).
