Call for Works: MATA 2021

Music At The Anthology (MATA) seeks submissions from composers in the early stages of their careers for the 2021 Festival of New Music in New York City and additional concerts during MATA’s 2020-2021 season.

MATA has no aesthetic bias: MATA welcomes all types of music from fully notated to improvised, sound art, video, electronic, found instruments, toys, installations, and everything in between. Composers are selected on the strength of their overall portfolio, and will receive either a performance of a pre-existing work or a commission to write a new piece to be produced by MATA. The performers featured by MATA have included leading chamber ensembles and soloists from around the world.

Fee: There is no application fee
Deadline: 13 Apr 2020 (M), 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time
Acceptance Notifcation: Fall 2020

To be considered, please submit the following electronically:

  1. Links to recordings of your two (2) best works
  2. Links to scores and/or descriptions to accompany the above recordings
  3. A one-page CV or resume
  4. A list of compositions (please include instrumentation & duration for all works)
  5. A completed application form
  6. Your contact information
