The NMGCS V International Composition Competition, organized by The National Music & Global Culture Society (New York), is now open for submissions! This year’s competition recognizes outstanding new full-scale musical works inspired by Turkic nations’ folk songs. It is open to composers of all nationalities with no age restrictions.
First Prize: $2000
Second Prize: $1000
Third Prize: $500
Additionally, all prize winners will receive a Certificate of Excellence and have their works performed at the Lincoln Center, Bruno Walter Auditorium in New York, USA.
An original composition for solo instrument or small ensemble (up to 5 instruments), based on one or several of ten (10) pre-selected Turkic nations’ folk songs must be submitted. Contestants may also use any other Turkic nations’ folk songs, IN ADDITION to the obligatory one(s).
