The next Singapore International Violin Competition (SIVC) will be held on 17 – 29 Jan 2021. Currently, they are calling for a work by a Singaporean composer.
This new commissioned work, which is sent to competitors two months before the competition, is performed during the semi-final round and challenges the interpretative skills of the competitors. It will receive a commission of SGD5000 and will be performed during the semi-final round in Singapore.
Requirements
- A 5-6 min work for solo violin
- Composer must be Singaporean
Please submit
- A 200-word biography (in English) and recent photo of the composer
- The PDF score of the piece, together with performance instructions and a 150-word programme note
Entries should be emailed to admin@singaporeviolincompetition.com with the subject “[Your Full Name] – Commissioned Work 2021″. You can submit more than one composition.
