Application Deadline: 20 Aug 2021 (F)

(Interested applicants may continue to submit materials after stipulated deadline)

Liria Music Prep is looking for a junior music engraver to join our team on a part-time, contract basis. We are currently in the process of expanding and are looking for one music notation connoisseur to assist in taking on some smaller projects from time to time. Our ideal candidate should currently be based in Singapore, but don’t let that stop you from messaging us, we are always looking for talented engravers to work with!

You are

  1. Experienced in using notation software, ideally Sibelius, and have prepared parts for chamber ensembles and/or orchestras.
  2. Proficient with standard notation and techniques for orchestral instruments (for example: knowledge of string bowing, brass mutes, vocal text formatting).
  3. Extremely detail oriented. More so than having the technical notation skill, we need someone who has an eye for good looking sheet music. If the image below causes great pain to your eyes, this is the role for you!

Ideally, you also

  1. Are extremely proficient in using Sibelius (and own Sibelius Ultimate) – from detailed formatting edits to creating custom symbols, noteheads and lines.
  2. Experienced with contemporary music notation trends (extended techniques, multiphonics, percussion set-ups).
  3. Can create graphics on external software such as Adobe Illustrator, or even Apple Pages.
  4. Peruse Behind Bars by Elaine Gould in your free time.

Hours

We provide flexible working hours, so this job is great for anyone who is just looking to take on a project here or there. Current students are welcome! Do note that we will have the occasional meeting during weeknights or weekends, due to some of the team being situated in different timezones.

If interested in this role, please send your resume/CV and ideally a couple of work samples to avikcharimusic@gmail.com.
