The São Paulo Contemporary Composers Festival provides a once in a lifetime experience for emerging professional composers specializing in the practices of Western contemporary art music. Accepted applicants to the festival will receive professional performances of their chamber or orchestral works by internationally renowned contemporary Brazilian performers. Additionally, composers will receive recordings of their chamber pieces as well as critique and master classes with our visiting guest honorariums. Composers will be provided housing throughout the duration of the festival along with exclusive tours of the City of São Paulo.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The São Paulo Contemporary Composers Festival is envisioned for composers in the field of 21st century art music. This includes individuals who aspire to continue the tradition and evolution of contemporary Western music practices.

Program tuition: $2,850, includes:

SPCCF CHAMBER MUSIC COMPOSITION

SPCCF Chamber Composition participants will have the opportunity to write for one of the following:

  • Quarteto Larianna (string quartet)
  • Quarteto Noûs (string quartet)
  • SPCCF Chamber Ensemble – flute, piano, cello, and double bass
  • Fonema Consort – soprano, flute (piccolo), clarinet, and double bass
  • Ensemble Dal Niente – flute, clarinet, percussion, piano, harp, violin, cello, viola, conductor
  • 0 0 1 2 trio – saxophone (alto or soprano), electric guitar, and bass clarinet + recorders
  • Alexandre Ribeiro – solo theorbo

Chamber pieces will be premiered and recorded live.
