WArkshop: Composing for the Viola & Saxophone

weird aftertaste will be running two workshops, composing for the viola in October and composing for the saxophone in November! Join them for an evening of composition and leave with professional recordings of your work!

❓WHAT’S WArkshop❔

epic evenings of music-writing/making, learning, and fun. join us to level up your technique, cook up some weird sounds, make some musical friends.

🎻 Composing for the viola:
4/10 (sat), 6-10pm with Christoven Tan
  1. Studying the physical instrument
  2. Understanding co-ordination & case studies
  3. Writing for the viola
  4. Discussions on the compositions brought by participants & composition exercise

Leave with a professionally recorded presentation of the ca.1-minute compositions written by participants.

🎷 Composing for the saxophone:
8/11 (sat), 6-10pm with Michellina Chan
  1. Introduction to weirdsounds
  2. Challenge 1: Focused exploration (compose a 1 min piece)
  3. Challenge 2: Freedom to explore (compose a 1 min piece)

    Leave with 2 fully workshopped pieces and 2 professional recordings.
